On this subject, there is a game (and an anime) called Otome wa Boku ni Koishiteru or ???[??]???However in this game (and anime) the main character is delicious trap, desu~ Hence the “Boku” which is usually a word said by guys (or Souseiseki…) Oh, and this ALSO would be a good eroge to TL
Pulltop’s upcoming Te to Te TRY ON! looks like something I’d enjoy seeing translated (after HaruKani, of course.) It’s a summer-themed ren’ai comedy. Here’s the Getchu page for the title.
Wow, with titles like Te to Te TRY ON! and some other things I’ve looked into from Pull Top, it looks like we’ve hit a new jackpot of potential titles to license with the whole slump DO, Trabulance etc are in. Although I’m sure there’s still some gold left in those companies like Fortuna, “Resutoa” and so on.
All the love fetish scenes have pretty much been distributed like crazy to the point where everyone has seen everything the game has to offer. I went and played the games myself and I can say there’s not much else to those games besides the cool animated scenes. I don’t think they’re worth translating at all, not to mention we never will get that chance.
But man I am so lobbying to get that new pulltop game released it looks awesome. Oddly enough Getchu isn’t going the usual way of showing an ero CG, makes me wonder if the game even has any. I tend to prefer they avoid displaying it in previews though, they’re kinda spoilers in a way. Especially for games that have very few scenes.
The Japanese equivilant of ESRB M would be CERO’s D rating.
CERO Ratings:
A (all ages)
B (ages 12 and up)
C (ages 15 and up)
D (ages 17 and up)
Z (ages 18 and up only, almost never used since bishoujo games are rated by the EOCS.)
“Ring Out-Pro Lesring” remains my favorite game ever, so its disappointing that more of the ‘training into submission’ type games aren’t coming out here.
Actually, the Z rating applies to some of the more violent titles like Killer7, Dead Rising, Ninja Gaiden 2, and a ton of western games (GTA, Gears of War, Assassin’s Creed, Half-Life 2, you name it).
CERO is more stringent when it comes to game violence, which is why publishers sometimes self-censor the Japanese versions of their products.
As for the ESRB, I think their AO rating can cover both pornographic and extremely violent games (i.e. Manhunt 2 was a candidate before Take-2 made the requested changes), whereas CERO refuses to represent the former.
That’s a name very rarely mentioned around here! Humm… if you like training into submission scenarios, you might should try Secret Wives Club. That’s a submission training scenario in that… not the player, but one of the girls you are “helping out”.
Hence the word ‘almost.’ I’m aware that the Z rating is used for extremely violent titles, but they only make up a tiny percentage of games being released.
Which always surprises me, seeing as how “I’m being raped but I’m enjoying it” games like X-Change were some of the biggest sellers for PeaPri in the beginning and probably why Snow Drop was never the big title that JAST/PeaPri thought it would be.
Ring Out was the trailblazer for the genre in the U.S. and I’m always surprised by the lack of love it gets. Granted, its morals are completely reprehensible, but for those who play the games primarily for the h-scenes, it’s still a favorite.
