What do you want Peach Princess to translate next?

Wow… Thanks for your hint. I’ll check if my save game file is still in my game folder or not.

Thanks again for your instructions. Yesterday I’ve executed the Registry Editor, I was afraid to make a serious and/or fatal errors… And I don’t trust the Windows XP System Restore. :frowning:

That’s being fan-translated, with the closest thing that passes as a blessing from Navel.

The game I seem to be stuck wanting is Himekishi Anjelica, by Silky’s. Two words: elf girls.
Need I say more? Here’s the offical (not safe for work) homepage: Himekishi Anjelica

PS: I know it’s probably not one of the ‘usual’ sources, but it looks really good, and has several of the themes I like… :stuck_out_tongue:

If you just love Elf Girls like me, then the game ELFIN ROSE from BlueGale is a must to you.

Another fine games are SHUFFLE! and TICK TACK from Navel. The girls are not exactly elves, but close enough!

Ooooooo! I’d love to see some games of elf girls… in English. ^^; Don’t mind me… I’m just some fan girl…

I don’t. You’re confusing me with Nargrakhan. He is the one crazy for twincest. I’m crazy for Non-Human girls (specially Elves) and oneesama-type girls. :stuck_out_tongue:

But i know a bgame with twins elf girls, this one.

Princess Nightmare sounds awesome . Monster studs? Sounds hot ! I wish all of these games could be released !!

Dear Peach Princess:

Please import Riyo Mori (aka Miss Universe 2007). She’s yummy… and she doesn’t even have a twin!

Your friend,

Narg

Ah, right. smacks self in the head I knew that, brain must’ve been out to lunch.

I apologize for commenting to a possibly dead-topic, but I am curious about the process which Peach Princess or G-Collections picks out titles. Are there only certain companies that let us have their games?

I know a lot of people have their personal interests (or say, “fetishes”), and I can’t deny that I certainly would like to see some of my favorite titles released out of personal selfishness.

But rather than list those, I will just say this. I met Peter Payne a few years ago, and he said that one of the best selling games in the PeaPri portfolio was The Sagara Family. I own it and it’s also one of my favorites. I think that I know why.

While most people on this forum will say that they want games with good stories, I’d say that’s true except that ero-games are supposed to be more about the ero part than anything else. In other words, I think that most people would rather pick a game given the quality of the H versus the quality of the story. This seems natural, actually. Even adult comics almost never feature a good story combined with great sex… Actually most of them simply don’t have a story at all.

Anyway, the cool part about Sagara Family may not be the story so much, but that it features a little of everything in terms of hentai. It’s got large-chested girls, small-chested girls, group sex, male domination, female domination, oral sex, anal play, etc. And the rough sex parts aren’t too rough–in my opinion, that’s a plus. In other words, this game features something for everybody (at least, for mainstream audiences), so you can pick and choose which scenes match your preferences, and best of all, some of the scenes are animated. It’s really smart thinking on ZYX’s part if you ask me. I wish there were more games like it.

=====

This is just a side note, since I know that it’ll never be released here anyway. I got to look at “Onedari Milky Pie” made by Sekilala. (That’s the company that brought you Come See My Tonight, Idols Galore, and Let’s Meow Meow).

I know that we’re going to get Bazooka Cafe for people that like their women top-heavy, but I was shocked after looking at Onedari Milky Pie. The latter game is really hentai.

For instance, I knew that the game was about breast expansion, but what I didn’t know was that the girls can get way larger than the promotional screenshots show… I’m talking to the point where they look like girls from Tohru Nishimaki’s Blue Eyes. Now THAT is a game for guys that like big chested women.

I wonder why it wasn’t selected? Was the milk squirting thing a little too kinky? I figured that “kinky” = “good thing” for that genre.

Hi, Kasumi-san. I have some suggestions: Why don’t you ask directly, via PM, Lamuness-san and/or Shingo-san? I think they know about this better than us, common members.

Well, I guess many of members like more the content as characters, BGM, story, artwork than pure ero scenes. And I also think H-animes are better with story than pure wild ero scenes. I surely prefer Wet Summer Days, Wife Eater than Blood Royal Princess. Just my personal tastes.

=====

Are you sure about his? I always thought Let’s Meow Meow is only from Yamikumo-Communications/Yamitsu… Or am I wrong?

I guess AngelSmile, Mercure, Sekilala, Trabulance, Yamikumo-Communications, ZeroCool are different companies, although they are “brothers”, from CD-BROS. I could be wrong…

My tastes are very different, but I admire your frankness, sincerity. And I respect you for this. We must respect different opinions, right?

[/b]

Yes, many of us prefer good story than pure HScenes. Like was told many times before, a really good story will make a bgame richer, more interesting and harder to forget, just like a drama or novel book. But too many hscenes will just make a bgame more plain stupid, weak and without profundity… just like porno movies.

As for H-animes, don’t think they are much better than pure ero bgames. In most cases, the producers of the h-anime version will take off 90% or more of the story from the original bgame and fit the other 10% in a 30 minutes movie, filled with erotism filler, sometimes turned more erotic and dirtier than the original.

Remember these bgames have 20 hours or more of playability with many different endings. There’s no way all the story would fit in mere 30 minutes per episode of a short series. So the original are still better in telling a story or at least different stories.

By the way, did you know these H-animes you like very much are all based in Hgames?

Wet Summer Days is based in SUIKA, a renai ADV from Circus.
Wife Eater (aargh!! Stupid title!! :frowning: ) is based in TSUMAMIGUI, a yarugee Training SIM from Alicesoft.
Blood Royal Princess is based in BLOOD ROYAL, a kishiku Training SIM from the now closed Cherrysoft.

Well, here’s the thing. Most of the time, an hscene is an hscene. They all have the same basic point/purpose, so they become largely interchangeable.

For games that focus on huge numbers of sex scenes, usually they’re not the kind of game you play again after you get a new one. Also they have to compete solely on how good the scenes are. Problem is, in whatever genre the game is in – there’s competition. And someone somewhere has probably done it better than any particular game.

A good story, however, is unique. There are no other games like Xenosaga, for example. Nor are there any other like Crescendo. The Castle by Franz Kafka, Heart of Darkness, and Harry Potter are all completely different. They don’t have to worry about the knockoffs as much.

So while a game with good hscenes might be more popular, games with good stories have the kind of staying power a yarugee simply can’t match. Kana continues to have strong sales, even though there are other strong story titles now (Crescendo, Figures of Happiness, etc). Its staying power is also in spite of its age – no VA, dated graphics.

But if Peach Princess were to ever release another nekomimi game (especially one with, say, animated scenes or much better artwork), I bet Let’s Meow Meow would sink like a stone. (Well, not quite – I’m exaggerating a bit for effect.)

A good story will get you a lasting fan base with far more loyalty than people who are here for the – ooooo, catgirls!

Unfortunately, a good story usually won’t grab you off the shelf (or browser). You generally don’t know it’s good until AFTER you play it. Word of mouth can help, but this industry isn’t quite big enough for that to be a driving force I would think.

So while a good story might keep a loyal fanbase going, Catgirls, or whatever, might grab more sales. I suspect that releasing both types of games, and trying to find ones that combine the best of worlds are the goal here.

Maybe I’m just trying to justify my own position. Because honestly, I would totally buy Onedari Milky Pie. But I also want story driven games. Give me both!

How about the Fate/Stay night PC game?

Mirror Moon 's already doing that one. And please bear in mind they can only localize games they have a contract with, like CD-Bros/Will and CROWD games.

Well they have the best chance. It’s not impossible to get a contract with another compnay (though specific ones it may be).

Depends really…

Some groups - and you’d be surprised by which - tend to make demands that are unreasonable or too costly. Not just at the start of negotiations, but during the process of making the game as well. Also some groups - and again you’d be surprised by which - do not want their titles to be ported over into English or another language.

Case in point from my own experience about the first… pull up a chair, as Uncle Nargy tells you a sad story…

I worked for a group that had translated a certain console game. It was to be released in the US under the brand of a rather popular company. We had 100% of the work done. Script, voice acting, recoding… EVERYTHING! The title was going to be announced at the next game show and promotion ads were on the printers.

Then we suddenly got a letter from the original Japanese makers - who got a copy of the finished English game - stating we owed them more $$$ for the songs.

You see, the game had “character songs” during certain moments and we translated these too. The English voice actresses sang them. We were proud of that.

BUT! BUT! BUT!

We were told that the “permission” given to make the game, did not include the character songs - which would have been renegotiated for. Of course that’s not how we interpreted the contract, and told them so. They wanted to make an issue of it, we fought back, but they had more $$$ for lawyers than we did because we spent all our $$$ on making the game.

Thus it died.

We had no more $$$ to hire music writers to make new character songs - to say nothing of rehiring the voice actresses. The US publisher was pissed that their investment was lost and said we were sloppy in not getting full permission for the game (which we weren’t - the original owners were getting greedy IMHO), so they dropped us like a disease and told us to not bother them again.

No money. Unearned bad rep on both sides of the ocean…

Yea. Broken dreams. :frowning:

EDIT
And before anyone asks: No I can’t give you a copy of the English game “under the table”, because we were ordered to give the master copies of the software to the Japanese company. There is no complete version in my possession… and what little I have is not leaving my hands, because I’m not interested in getting myself or my friends in a legal battle, because I’m technically not supposed to still have stuff like that in my possession. Which is also why I’m not giving out the title either. So there. :stuck_out_tongue:
